GUTSY GIRLS TAKE TO THE SLOPES
UK-based travel agency and events organiser, Gutsy Girls, has announced its winter programme set to capture the market for women-only travel.
The adventure-centred TA hosts a wide range of all-female events including weekend retreats and active holidays.
Activities include standup paddle boarding in London, surf lessons in Portugal, mountain hiking in Croatia and cross-country skiing in Norway.
The company will launch its winter ski trips later this month, with lessons including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding.
Customers are aged between 20 to 69 and demand is expected to be high, according to the firm.
Founder Natalie Bannister told ITB Newsroom: “They have been incredibly popular. Our trips normally sell out within two minutes. We only run a few each year and have around 70% returning guests.”
Most events are created for complete beginners and aim to encourage women to step outside of their comfort zone and discover new sports in a supportive and fun environment.
“Gutsy Girls is for all women using the outdoors to unite us – women of all races, ages, sexual orientation, cultures and backgrounds,” Ms Bannister said.
“Our authentic experiences are for women looking to go beyond their comfort zones, to explore new places, discover new passions and meet new friends.
“It’s all about connecting women with each other through nature, adventure and sports.”
Gutsy Girls’ winter ski programme promises customers an immersive sports experience with four and seven-night stays running from January to April in Norway.
“Within two days, you are moving effortlessly in skies and immersed in the sport. In a long weekend, you can leave having conquered a new sport,” Ms Bannister added.
