G ADVENTURES EXPANDS GALAPAGOS FLEET WITH PIONEERING CATAMARAN
Global adventure operator G Adventures is launching the Reina Silva Voyager, the company’s first vessel to feature dedicated solo cabins
G Adventures is adding to its fleet in the Galápagos Islands and introducing the Reina Silvia Voyager to meet traveller demand.
The custom-built catamaran has been designed to offer upgraded accommodation with 10 spacious cabins split over two decks including two dedicated solo rooms.
It is expected to be among the most comfortable vessels of its six in the archipelago this summer season.
Global vice president of product Yves Marceau said the creation of the Reina Silvia Voyager will allow G Adventures to cater to the rise in travellers seeking bigger-ticket adventures and more from their holiday time.
Marceau commented: “The pandemic has made many of us rethink how we holiday. We’re seeing a very high demand for those once-in-a-lifetime adventures such as the Galapagos as travellers commit to those trips they’ve long dreamt about.
“The Galapagos has ranked consistently among our top three most popular destinations for European travellers over the past six months as travellers are drawn to the diverse wildlife, biodiversity and landscapes of the archipelago.”
G Adventures is also seeing a rise in tourists seeking solo cabin options driven not only by more solo travellers but also those wanting their own personal space, the VP explained.
The Reina Silvia Voyager is the firm‘s first vessel to feature dedicated solo cabins, offering a much more affordable option for those wanting to stay alone.
The 103ft Reina Silvia Voyager offers four itineraries ranging from eight to ten days including Quito and accommodate up to 16 passengers. Eight rooms offer private balconies, while all rooms have panoramic windows for optimal ocean viewing, private bathrooms, bright, contemporary furnishings, artwork by local naturalist photographers, and energy-saving LED lighting.
Common areas on board will include an expansive third deck with lounge chairs for sunbathing, covered cocktail bar, grill station and an outdoor jacuzzi tub for relaxing under the sun or stars.
Landings and exploration of the region’s remote ports and wild, rocky coasts will be accessible to guests, thanks to the Reina Silvia Voyager’s eight on-board kayaks and two zodiacs for guests’ guided use. A crew of ten, including a dedicated chef and G Adventures chief experience officer, will serve guests daily.
