MSC Group’s Explora Journeys targets travellers with truly transformative travel experiences
Representing the ambition and long-held dream of the MSC Group and the Aponte family to redefine luxury ocean travel for discerning luxury travellers, Explora Journeys was back at ITB Berlin this year to promote its exceptional sea cruises with the idea of creating a unique ‘Ocean State of Mind’ for its guests.

Among other industry leaders, Ungerer provided insights into the future of the luxury cruise industry as well as his perspective on how to attract the next generation of luxury travellers.
Originating from the owners’ long-held vision to redefine the ocean experience for a new generation of luxury travellers, drawing on 300 years of maritime heritage, Explora Journeys’ aspiration is to create a unique ‘Ocean State of Mind’ by connecting guests with the sea, with themselves, and like-minded people. While its remarkable itineraries will blend renowned destinations with lesser-travelled ports for a journey that inspires discovery in all its forms.
Each journey has been designed around today’s discerning traveller, with an emphasis on a slower pace and the opportunity to linger longer at each destination including overnight stays. Meanwhile, the highest standards in sustainable, responsible practices are rigorously maintained to ensure minimal impact on nature and local communities.

Explora I, the first of a fleet of up to six luxury ships, will be named on 8 July 2023 in Civitavecchia near Rome, Italy. She will start her maiden journey from Southampton, UK, for a 15-night Northern European journey on 17 July 2023.
