Malta highlights EuroPride at ITB Berlin

Malta’s capital Valetta will host the EuroPride 2023, an event which puts the Mediterranean Island under the spotlight. “It is very important to us as we have a tradition of tolerance. The LGBTQ+ community is well accepted across the society, although it might not have the same visibility as in Barcelona or Berlin”, says Nicholas Bugeja, Coordinator, EuroPride 2023.

The government is very supportive of the event and has invested 2.5 million euros in its planning. EuroPride will be taking place from September 7 to 17, with cultural events, as well as workshops and conferences on gender equality being held on September 16. Malta expects 20,000 to 25,000 participants and has already received a lot of interest from the USA, Germany, the UK and neighbouring countries.
