India’s incredible tourism offer on display at ITB Berlin 2024

India is back at ITB Berlin this year with strong tourism growth behind it. Last year, foreign tourist arrivals surged by 64%, reaching 9.24 million arrivals compared to 6.44 million the year before. This brought the country to only 15.5% below its pre-pandemic level in 2019. India anticipates a year of diversification and product expansion for 2024. Priority tourism activities include MICE, wedding tourism and wildlife tourism, all of which are in the spotlight at ITB Berlin 2024.

Brand-new facilities for MICE

MICE tourism is benefiting from endless possibilities in India, a land where ancient wisdom meets modern infrastructure. Investments helped boost infrastructure with over 440 airports while over 70 convention centres can welcome any type and size of event. With 5G network available, India boasts connectivity and convenience. In 2022, India took on the G20 Presidency and to date has hosted over 200 meetings in 50+ cities catering to over 12,000 delegates from over 110 nationalities.

From the historic capital city of Delhi to the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, from the serene backwaters of Kerala to pristine beaches of Goa, from the ancient forts and temples of Rajasthan to the enchanting natural beauty of Meghalaya, India offers a myriad of destinations that cater to business needs and preferences. With 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India, there’s no dearth of inspiration for creativity and team building.
