“Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025” launched in Europe at ITB Berlin

Thailand remains a top destination in Asia with over 35 million international arrivals in 2024 and US$53 billion in revenue. It is further capitalising on its tourism success with its “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025” campaign, presented by Thailand’s Prime Minister at ITB Berlin.

The launch of “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025” confirms tourism as a key pillar of Thailand’s economy with a target of 39 million tourists and US$95 billion in revenue. Such an achievement would help consolidate Thailand as a world-class travel destination, underlined Thailand’s Prime Minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra at ITB Berlin.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has outlined five key themes: Grand Festivity, Grand Moment, Grand Privilege, Grand Invitation, and Grand Celebration. The initiative will help promote arts, crafts, and secondary destinations throughout the year. It is bolstered by the “5 Must-Do in Thailand” concept: Must Taste, Must Try, Must Buy, Must See and Must Seek. They encourage visitors to experience the essence of Thailand.

Under the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, TAT is promoting creative events under “Experience 5 Festive Vibes in Thailand.” They include the Saneh Thai Carnival, associated with the celebration of the Thai New Year (Songkran); the “Amazing Thailand Love Wins Festival “, commemorating the legalisation of same-sex marriage; Loi Krathong, the traditional lights’ festival and the Amazing Thailand Countdown at ICONSIAM along the Chao Phraya River for the New Year.

TAT is also positioning Thailand as a premier destination for sports lovers by hosting globally-recognised sports events. It includes the MotoGP Thailand in Buriram, the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok, a trail running event “Hoka Chiang Mai Thailand by UTMB”, the South-East Asian SEA Games Thailand 2025 and the WGP#1 Waterjet World Cup 2025 in Chonburi. The calendar is available at the TAT stand at ITB Berlin.
