Oman offers rare chance to connect with authentic Arab world

Aryaf Jibreen Tourism is showcasing the magic of Oman at ITB Berlin 2023 with its diverse landscapes, rich history and vibrant culture.

The captivating destination is known for its natural beauty including the dramatic Hajar Mountains that extend for 700km along the northeastern coast. Here, visitors can enjoy stunning views from the top of Jebel Shams – the highest peak in the country – which translates to Mountain of the Sun.

Another iconic location in Oman is the Wahiba Sands, a vast expanse of rolling sand dunes that covers over 12,000km2. Visitors can enjoy dune bashing, camel riding, and camping under the stars in this beautiful desert environment.

Beyond nature, Oman is also steeped in history and culture with a rich heritage that spans thousands of years. One of its most impressive historical sites is the Bahla Fort. The UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in the 13th century and is an excellent example of traditional Omani architecture.

Visitors can also explore the traditional markets, or souqs, in cities like Muscat and Nizwa. The Muttrah Souq in Muscat is one of the oldest markets in Oman and is a great place to find souvenirs, traditional clothing, and spices. The country also boasts a delicious cuisine with a blend of Arabic, Indian and African flavours.
