Egypt enhances travel experiences for Chinese visitors
Egypt is experiencing a significant increase in Chinese tourists, crucial for its tourism industry and economy. To cater to this growing market, Egypt has introduced visa-on-arrival, innovative initiatives, and substantial infrastructure investments. 2023 saw a record 14.906 million visitors, with 8% growth expected in 2024. Liberalisation reforms are attracting new investments, while a high-speed train linking Hurghada and Luxor by late 2025 will enhance travel efficiency. The Cairo City Break programme aims to make Cairo a vibrant weekend destination, and seven historic hotels are being converted into luxury accommodations, marking a new era in Egypt’s tourism sector.
