TASTEATLAS REVEALS THE TOP 100 DISHES FROM AROUND THE WORLD IN 2021

The TasteAtlas website has released its top 100 list of the best traditional dishes from around the world in 2021. A strong incentive to visit the destinations home to these top culinary highlights.

TasteAtlas is considered as a reference for traditional dishes and local ingredients as it contains a database of more than 15,000 traditional dishes and local food products. The rankings are based on over 100,000 user ratings.

Mexican Cochinita pibil has been voted the best traditional dish in the world, with an average score of 4.69. The second best is Brazilian Picanha (4.67), followed by Polish Pierogi Ruskie (4.66). Thai Massaman Curry is in fourth place, while the fifth is reserved for Italian Trofie al pesto.

Greece, Italy, Mexico, Spain and more…

Jamon Iberico de Belota has been proclaimed the best meat product in the world, and Portuguese Alheira came out as the best sausage. Italian Stracciatella has been rated as the best cheese in the world, while Romanian Fataesca Negra is the best wine variety in the world. Filipino Sinigang is the best soup in the world, Turkish Shish Kebab is the best meat dish in the world, Greek Yemista is the best vegetable dish in the world, while Greek Dakos was voted the best salad.

For gastronomy and flavour fans, according to TravelAtlas the countries to visit with the best cuisine are: Italy, with an average score of 4.78, followed by Greece (4.73) and Spain (4.58). Romania came in fourth place, with Mexico a respctable fifth.

The city with the best traditional food in the world is Mexico City (4.52), followed by Bangkok, Naples, Hong Kong, and Buenos Aires.
