Oceania Cruises’ new Vista ship redefines luxury travel

This extraordinary vessel, Vista, has made a resplendent debut with its stunning design, impeccable service, and exceptional onboard experiences

Vista’s christening ceremony was a star-studded affair, headlined by her godmother, the celebrated Italian-American chef, author, restaurateur, and Emmy award-winning food personality Giada De Laurentiis. Adding to the evening’s glamour, legendary Grammy and Emmy award-winning musician Harry Connick Jr delivered an exclusive performance.

Frank Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, expressed his excitement about Vista’s historic christening, stating: “We have eagerly awaited this momentous day as we christen our first new ship in over a decade and pave the way for an exciting future. The world-class experience of this beautiful ceremony perfectly aligns with Vista’s remarkable onboard offerings, featuring a stunning design, exceptional entertainment, top-notch service, and innovative culinary delights. We are profoundly grateful to our dedicated team members and partners worldwide who have worked tirelessly to bring us to Vista’s grand debut.”

With a capacity for 1,200 guests at double occupancy, the ship offers an unmatched staffing ratio, with two crew members for every three guests. This ensures personalised and attentive service throughout the voyage.

One of Vista’s standout features is its all-veranda accommodations, providing guests with breathtaking views of the ocean. The ship’s staterooms are among the most spacious at sea, measuring over 290 square feet, providing an oasis of tranquility and relaxation. Moreover, Vista introduces new Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms tailored to the needs of solo travellers.

The experience onboard Vista is characterised by a myriad of activities and venues. Guests can indulge their taste buds in the ship’s 11 culinary venues, including the newly added Aquamar Kitchen, which offers a tempting selection of wellness-inspired dishes with a touch of indulgence. The Bakery at Baristas serves freshly baked pastries, and the new signature restaurant, Ember, promises a culinary journey like no other. For cocktail enthusiasts, Vista introduces The Casino Mixology Bar, a unique concept solely dedicated to the art of crafting exquisite cocktails.

As the godmother of Vista, Giada De Laurentiis will leave her culinary mark by creating two signature dishes to be savoured in Toscana, Oceania Cruises’ authentic Italian specialty restaurant, and The Grand Dining Room, the epitome of opulence among the ship’s culinary venues.

The christening ceremony was a night to remember. Guests were enthralled by the opening performance of “Into the Night,” an enchanting dance-centric theatrical show led by renowned “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer and choreographer Britt Stewart.

Giada De Laurentiis then took the stage to officially name and christen Vista, commemorating the occasion with the ceremonial Champagne bottle break across the ship’s hull. The festivities concluded with a dazzling display of fireworks illuminating Valletta’s historic harbour, while attendees revealed in a captivating concert by the incomparable Harry Connick, Jr., who mesmerised the audience with 60 minutes of non-stop entertainment.
