Bristol Hotel Berlin enters Forbes Travel Guide list of star ratings 2023

The Forbes Travel Guide is an internationally recognised authority on hospitality excellence and the Hotel Bristol Berlin is the latest addition to its illustrious list of annual ratings.

Forbes Travel Guide recently announced its 2023 Star Awards, which recognises the world’s most outstanding hotels, restaurants, spas and cruises. The coveted top honour 2023 has been given for the first time to one of Berlin’s most prestigious hotel, the Bristol Berlin.

The Bristol is a reference for Berlin’s hospitality industry. Known before as the Kempinski Hotel Berlin, the property, which opened in 1952, became one of the most coveted addresses for artists and political and economic figures in post-war West-Berlin. The long list of prominent guests included among many others Ava Gardner, Sir Alfred Hitchcock, Sophia Loren, Maria Callas, Romy Schneider, Rudolf Nureyev, Liza Minelli, Mick Jagger or politicians such as John F. Kennedy, Willy Brandt, Mikhail Gorbachev or Ronald Reagan.

Totally refurbished between 2009 and 2017, the Bristol Berlin offers 246 rooms and 55 Suites, 3 restaurants and bar, a conference centre, an indoor heated pool, a sauna and steam room as well as a fitness centre.

Forbes Travel Guide inspectors explain that their choice was influenced by “the charming setting inside a historic building, the excellent service and the prime location near the Kurfürstendamm. All remain big draws, as do the luxury hotel’s top-notch restaurants and bright, engaging sauna and pool area.”

Forbes inspectors enjoyed the grand lobby with its historic free-standing golden pillars, green marble floors and original Berlin artwork. “Much of the hotel reflects this traditional-luxe aesthetic,” wrote Forbes Travel Guide.
