Personalities from both the tourism and political spheres came together during the ITB Berlin Opening Tour yesterday morning. After kicking off the show at Official Host Country Georgia’s booth in Hub27, they walked through the halls of Messe Berlin, welcoming exhibitors to the world’s biggest travel trade show. The political sphere was represented by the Governing Mayor of Berlin Franziska Giffey and the Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Economy and Tourism Dieter Janecek. On the tourism front, representatives included Julia Simpson, President & CEO WTTC, Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General UNWTO, Dirk Hoffman, Managing Director, Messe Berlin and Norbert Fiebig, President of the DRV, the German Travel Association. The DZT, German railways DB, visitBerlin, Berlin Airport, Brandenburg but also Abu Dhabi, Colombia, Korea, Morocco, Oman and South Africa were part of the opening tour.
