Originally owned by Fred and Eleanor McCrea, the Residence has been thoughtfully redesigned by Lawrence Wine Estates to preserve the property’s legacy and aesthetic while providing a luxury-focused experience.

Impeccable Design and Authentic Vintage Pieces Enhance the Residence Experience

Designed by Hayley Johnson of Rakis Design in San Francisco, The Residence at Stony Hill boasts intimate spaces throughout the property that provide guests with unique and personalized tasting experiences. Over the course of three years, the design team meticulously curated authentic vintage pieces from the mid-century era, sourced from around the world. These pieces are seamlessly blended with custom furniture, paying homage to the original era while embodying the next phase of luxury for the Stony Hill brand.

Stony Hill Vineyard’s Rich Terroir and Uncompromising Winemaking Philosophy

Stony Hill Vineyard, established in 1952, occupies the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains in Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District AVA. With an elevation ranging from 800 to 1,550 feet, the vineyard benefits from optimal grape-growing conditions. The vines thrive in volcanic mountain soils, while the underlying limestone rock imparts a distinctive sense of place. Stony Hill’s highly sought-after wines reflect a nuanced and delicate terroir-driven style, featuring flagship varietals such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Syrah and Alsatian varietals.

Stony Hill Winemaker Reid Griggs shared his winemaking philosophy, stating, “Through a deep understanding of the soil and the vineyard, coupled with low intervention winemaking, we aim to craft wines from this site that will express the very best of Spring Mountain. Producing a Cabernet Sauvignon of the highest pedigree with freshness will become an increasing focus in our marginal environment, which we believe sets the stage for great wines.”
