Saudi Arabia unveils rethink summer campaign to highlight its diverse tourism offerings
Saudi Arabia, known for its captivating landscapes and warm hospitality, has officially launched the ‘Rethink Summer’ campaign, an initiative by the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) to position the country as an exceptional summer destination for adventurers and explorers from both within Saudi Arabia and abroad.
The campaign was introduced at an exclusive event in Riyadh, where key partners from the government, private sector, and tourism ecosystem gathered to learn more about the campaign’s objectives. The event provided a preview of the featured destinations, events, and experiences, along with a call-to-action for trade partners to enhance the country’s tourism offerings through their own promotions and offers.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Saudi Tourism Authority, expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s rapid growth as a global destination and its ability to welcome visitors year-round. He emphasized the country’s diverse attractions, from the lush green highlands to the beautiful coasts of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. The campaign aims to showcase Saudi Arabia’s entertainment events, tailored to cater to the interests of all visitors.
Notably, the private sector plays a significant role in the campaign, contributing over 1.8 million additional seats for inbound flights, more than 15 thousand new hotel rooms, and offering over 100 products customized to meet the preferences of summer tourists. This collaboration marks the largest contribution by the private sector to Saudi Arabia’s tourism initiatives to date.
Saudi Arabia is poised to achieve major milestones in tourism this year, including the opening of three resorts at The Red Sea, an ambitious luxury tourism development. Additionally, Sindalah Island, an extraordinary destination in NEOM, and Diriyah, a 300-year-old mud city and the birthplace of Saudi Arabia, have already attracted significant attention from visitors.
Earlier this month, global football icon Lionel Messi visited Saudi Arabia with his family, demonstrating the country’s appeal to international celebrities and showcasing its vibrant capital city, Riyadh.
