From Michelin Stars to UNESCO Heritage: Serbia set to shine at ITB Berlin 2025

Serbia is bringing a wide range of tourism offers to ITB Berlin this year. From a vibrant restaurant scene recognised by the prestigious Michelin Guide to its UNESCO-listed cultural heritage and the upcoming Expo in Belgrade – the destination will captivate show visitors with its distinctive blend of history, heritage and modern-day innovation.

At this year’s event, Serbia has much to share with visitors. Firstly, its lively gastronomic landscape has been been widely recognised by the celebrated Michelin Restaurant Guide. The 2025 edition of the Michelin Guide features no less than 23 distinguished restaurants in Serbia, showcasing an impressive blend of innovation, authenticity, and dedication to local ingredients. The new edition of the guide also marks an historic moment as two restaurants in Serbia receive their first-ever Michelin Star recognition – The Langouste and the Fleur de Sel.

Beyond Serbia’s gastronomic achievements, the destination will also be showcasing the growing appreciation of its cultural heritage. In 2024, the traditional naïve painting practices of Kovačica were inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This centuries-old tradition involves self-taught painters using bright oils to depict scenes of rural life, history, and cultural heritage.

Yet another important event that will be in the spotlight at ITB Berlin is Expo 2027 – Play for humanity exhibition, which will take place in Belgrade. To accommodate this exhibition, Serbia’s capital city is set to undergo a remarkable transformation, with new infrastructure and transportation systems reshaping its landscape.

In addition to all of these developments, Belgrade also welcomed two elegant new hotels that saw their first guests in 2024, the Bristol, which originally opened in 1912, and the St. Regis Belgrade.
