Avis Budget Group launches Self-Service Kiosks for enhanced traveller convenience
Avis Budget Group is introducing Self-Service Kiosks at ITB China 2024. These kiosks aim to enhance the vehicle collection process for customers and are strategically positioned in major travel hubs, such as airports, allowing travellers to quickly and securely retrieve rental vehicle keys from an automated machine. This service is integrated with the Avis app, offering an entirely paperless experience. Customers can verify their identity using the app, select or upgrade their vehicle, and receive a QR code, which is then scanned at the kiosk to collect the keys.
Martin Gruber, Vice President Commercial, International, emphasised the importance of this development: “Expediting the rental process is one of the key industry pain points for consumers when renting a vehicle. Recognising the pivotal role of digitalisation in our industry, we are addressing this need by expanding our offering with our new Self-Service Kiosks, which use technology to provide flexibility and efficiency, tailored to individual customer needs.”
Avis Budget Group also offers QuickPass, a digital check-in service that further streamlines the rental process. These innovations reflect the company’s commitment to improving customer experience through continuous technological advancements. The Self-Service Kiosk service is available at no additional cost to members of Avis Preferred, Avis’s free loyalty programme, providing added value for frequent customers.
