The all electric aircraft set to take off in the sustainable travel sector
Up to 30 all-electric commuter Alice aircrafts are headed for lift off in the UK after Monte signed a Letter of Intent today
Eviation Aircraft, a manufacturer of the all electric aircraft, signed the agreement with Monte, an aircraft leasing company focused on sustainable aviation. The Alice is the world’s first flight-tested all-electric commuter plane, with orders currently valued at over US$ 4 billion.
Monte will provide financing and leasing solutions for the Alice and its associated charging infrastructure to its global customer base of regional aircraft operators.
Eviation Alice, the nine-passenger all electric aircraft
Eviation Alice is the only flight-proven all electric aircraft of its size for commuters. Built from a clean-sheet design around magniX’s industry-leading electric propulsion system, it produces zero carbon emissions and costs a fraction to operate per flight hour compared to light jets or high-end turboprops.
In this way, it offers the opportunity for pilots to activate more routes, improving the convenience of air travel.
“The need to accelerate technological solutions to climate change, such as Eviation’s Alice, is becoming ever more urgent,” said Loic Questiaux, EMEA Sales Director at Eviation.
“Just one month ago, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned that the planet is likely to pass the threshold of 1.5C warming over pre-industrial temperatures by the early 2030s, a tipping point for the planet’s climate.
“By supporting groundbreaking innovations such as Alice, Monte is helping to advance much-needed innovation in confronting one of the greatest challenges facing mankind.”
Monte’s Director Rishi Majithia also commented on hopes for the all electric aircraft and said the company is “delighted” to enter into this agreement with Eviation.
