Where to go in Berlin

From Odesa to Berlin, European painting from the 16th to the 19th century

Many of Berlin’s cultural highlights this spring celebrate the world just as ITB Berlin does. At the Gemäldegalerie gallery at the Kulturforum near Potsdamer Platz 60 paintings from the Ukrainian Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art are on display. This exceptional collection of masterpieces from the 16th to the 19th century was secretly transferred from the museum, helping to preserve them.

A journey to the soul of contemporary Africa through photography

Berlin is celebrating the European Month of Photography until the end of March with an array of photography exhibits. Among them is the exceptional exhibition “A World in Common, African Contemporary Photography” at C/O Berlin near the Zoologischer Garten rail station. Over 100 photographs from 23 African artists from across the continent question the weight of colonial history, local traditions, identity, and the future. It is colourful, emotional and always fascinating.

Berlin Global

Past, present and future: much of what happens in Berlin has an impact on the world, and much of what happens in the world affects Berlin. Berlin Global is a special 4,000-metre exhibition that shows how the city and its people are connected to the world. Located on the first floor of the rebuilt Berlin Castle, now the Humboldt Forum, the exhibition celebrates Berlin within seven themes : Revolution, Free Space, Boundaries, Entertainment, War, Fashion, and Interconnection, and explains why everyone in the world has a bit of Berlin in their heart.
