OMAN REOPENS TO INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS ON 1 OCTOBER
Oman is reopening its airports to international flights on October 1.
The country’s Supreme Committee responsible for the Covid-19 response said international flights to and from the sultanate could start next month depending upon health data for specific destinations.
International flights into Oman stopped on Sunday 29 March in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Oman Airports took to Twitter to confirm the news that their scheduled international service would return on 1 October: “We will continue to work closely with authorities and experts to ensure your safety and well-being at every stage of your journey”.
Flights have remained open for citizens and residents, and anyone entering Oman must quarantine for 14 days, either at home or in a hotel.
Oman has put in place stringent rules to welcome tourists back to the country. New signage and sanitiser dispensers have been placed throughout the arrival and departure areas at the international airport. In addition, barriers have been placed at ticket counters, passport and immigration zone, and visa area. Baggage claim is made for one-way traffic to reduce crowds and interaction.
