Kazakhstan: Gastronomy and adventure in the spotlight at ITB Berlin 2024

Kazakhstan is presenting a wide tourism offer at ITB Berlin this year, from traditional gastronomy to adventure tourism.

In Astana, for example, travellers can dine at the famour Qazaq Gourmet restaurant, recognised internationally and contributing to acknowledgment of Kazakh national cuisine on the global stage. This was the first place to bring Kazakh cuisine to a fine-dining level while keeping the authenticity of ancient recipes. A popular delight is vodka made of fermented mare’s milk kumis.

Kazakhstan is also a haven for adventure seekers. With its vast steppes, rugged mountains, and serene lakes, the country offers many opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, trekking, skiing, and horseback riding. Whether exploring the landscapes of Altai Mountains or camping under the stars in the Charyn Canyon or Bozjyra tract, adventurers are sure to find experiences that will leave a lasting impression. The gorge Medeu is listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s highest open air skating rink, and features well-known restaurants Auyl and Tör.

Visitors to ITB Berlin can stop by Kazakhstan’s stand to find out more about all that this destination has to offer.
