Finnair strengthens its network to Nordic holiday destinations for summer 2024

Finland’s national carrier Finnair is adding flights to some popular Nordic holiday destinations for the peak summer season this year between the end of June and August.

The carrier will restore flights to this year’s European Capital of Culture Bodø, above the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway, with five weekly frequencies between 17 June and 02 August. Further in Norway, Finnair will add flights to Trondheim with 10 weekly services from June to the end of August. In Sweden, the carrier flies 5 times a week to Visby in Gotland, from end of June to early August.

Finnair is also adding flights to Kuusamo, Ivalo and Kittilä in Northern Finland, as the Finnish Lapland increasingly attracts holiday travellers during the summer season.

On March 31, 2024, Finnair will start a year-round service to Tartu in Southern Estonia with two daily flights six days a week. The flights are supported by the Tartu City Government, especially as the city is also Europeab Capital of Culture 2024.

In another development, Finnair introduced on 27 February 2024 a new ticket type for business travellers. The PrioFlex, ticket is for corporate customers, and is similar to a Flex ticket type in Economy and Premium Economy but includes priority check-in, security, and boarding at airports where available. It is automatically attributed to corporate customers with a valid corporate agreement.
