Albania’s expanded network connectivity a draw for tourists

Albania’s leading telecommunications provider, One Albania, adds another feature to the destination’s appeal: expanded network coverage for seamless communication throughout the country

One Albania is a key partner in the development of tourism in Albania and has also supported cultural, tourism, and sporting events, and made considerable investments in infrastructure.

The unique geographical location, favourable climate, and diverse terrain featuring long coastlines and rugged, green mountains attract tourists from around the globe to ITB Berlin 2025’s Official Host Country, Albania. This hidden gem in the heart of the Balkans has established itself on the global tourism map as a destination offering some of the most beautiful beaches along the Adriatic and Ionian coasts, unexplored mountain trails, historic cities, and numerous cultural attractions.

Albania ranked fourth globally in the World Tourism Barometer report for the fastest recovery in tourist arrivals, compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Behind these numbers lies a deeper narrative—one of a country that has embraced its beauty, culture, and history in all their diversity. Yet this transformation has not occurred by chance. Investments in infrastructure have been pivotal. The construction of new hotels, improved roads, and the diversification of tourist offerings have all contributed to placing Albania firmly on travellers’ radars. The country’s strengthened telecommunications network has also played a role in making Albania an even more desirable destination.

For travellers, staying connected is as crucial as discovering new destinations or savouring delicious food. From navigating mountain roads with a GPS to sharing experiences online in real-time, technology plays an essential role in every journey. Albania, thanks to its telecommunications leader One Albania, is equipped with a robust network to secure connectivity everywhere in the country.

One Albania has become a vital partner in supporting the growth of tourism in the country and last year signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Tourism for the “Albania All Senses” initiative, ensuring that visitors enjoy seamless communication, even in some of the most remote areas.

“The diversity of activities and the influx of tourists visiting our country have increased the demand for a quality and reliable network. To accommodate the rapid growth in users and data traffic, One Albania has strategically expanded its network coverage.”

“The diversity of activities and the influx of tourists visiting our country have increased the demand for a quality and reliable network. To accommodate the rapid growth in users and data traffic, One Albania has strategically expanded its network coverage. Our team has worked diligently to ensure that the One network not only meets but exceeds the expectations of both local users and international visitors,” says Brano Djurovic, CEO of One Albania.

Beyond connectivity, One Albania is also boosting tourism growth through its support for a variety of cultural, tourism, and sporting events, including the UNUM festival, the Porto Palermo festival, San Fest, fan zones created in Vlora and Tirana, and the Tirana marathon. In addition, One Albania has invested in various infrastructure improvements such as providing network coverage for the Llogara Tunnel. As travellers navigate through the longest tunnel in Albania, they remain connected to the most advanced network in the country.

In Albania where tradition meets innovation, whether tourists are hiking across high mountains or sailing through Albania’s turquoise waters, they find themselves supported by a network—both technological and human—that makes every journey unforgettable.
