Seychelles’ Waldorf Astoria: The ultimate paradise for honeymooners from October 2023

The Seychelles will launch its first Waldorf Astoria as well as its first officially registered six-star hotel. It marks the perfect opportunity for honeymooners to experience ultimate in luxury from next October.

With the Waldorf Astoria due to open next October, the Hilton group will consolidate its footprint in the Seychelles. With the signing of management agreements to bring the luxury brand, the future resort will be the first property bearing the prestigious Waldorf Astoria brand.  The property will indeed be the ultimate in luxury, officially being registered as a six-star property.

Carlos Khneisser, Vice President, Development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton said: “The Seychelles remains unquestionably one of the world’s most desirable destinations for the discerning traveller.  We are proud of the role our teams have played in the sustainable development of the Seychelles, and these new additions, coupled with Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts, will give our guests an unprecedented range of world-class experiential options to choose from when planning what is sure to be an unforgettable visit.”

Waldorf Astoria Platte Island, extreme luxury and romance

A truly exclusive luxury experience, the resort will offer a collection of 59 seafront villas all equipped with private pools. Guests will have access to six restaurants and bars, a kids’ club, outdoor observatory, tennis courts and a marine conservation discovery center – all within the sanctuary of Platte Island. Honeymooners will enjoy the privacy and luxury of the villas with own pool but also one of the Seychelles finest spa. The Waldorf Spa will offer a serene destination for holistic wellbeing, featuring six treatment rooms, a beauty salon, hammam, spa suite and serene outdoor spaces. All will blend harmoniously to offer guests an unparalleled spa experience.

The island itself lies just over 130 km south of Mahé and is renowned as a nature lover’s paradise, covered with palm forest and surrounded by a coral reef and lagoon. A small airstrip allows for access to the island from the main airport of Mahé. In an effort to create and use renewable energy as part of the resort’s operation, many buildings throughout the grounds will be equipped with solar panelled roofing.

In another development on the Seychelles islands, Hilton is also opening this year a Canopy by Hilton Mahé, located on Mahé’s Anse à la Mouche beach. The resort will offer 120 locally inspired guest rooms and space to accommodate more intimate meetings and events.
