EXPO 2020: GETTING THERE COULDN’T BE SIMPLER

With Expo 2020 Dubai just around the corner, organisers have compiled a comprehensive “how to” guide for those planning to attend.

The Expo site is located in Dubai South, close to Al Maktoum International Airport and can be easily reached from Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s international airports and cruise terminals.

Expo 2020 benefits from excellent connections to public transport. These include the Route 2020 Metro extension and Expo Rider, a dedicated complimentary public bus service, with Expo’s three main entrances just a 20-minute drive from Dubai Marina. For those with accessibility needs, there is a dedicated accessibility for transportation and parking page.

Walking into the future

The 21-metre-high, mashrabiya-style carbon fibre entry portals give visitors a first taste of the breathtaking architecture and unprecedented innovation they will experience across Expo 2020. This is one of the world’s most technologically connected sites; a city of the future powered by state-of-the-art innovations that will link every aspect of the event to ensure visitors have an unparalleled experience. It will also be one of the most sustainable World Expos ever – an example of innovation in action from cutting-edge sustainable architecture to sensors that monitor energy efficiency.

The Expo 2020 site covers a massive 4.38 sq km in all. Its Thematic Districts include performance spaces, innovation galleries, art installations, parks and outdoor gardens, each anchored by a Thematic Pavilion.

Al Wasl Plaza is Expo’s beating heart — its iconic centrepiece and the focal point for celebrations during Expo 2020. Its steel trellis dome is one of the world’s largest 360-degree projection surfaces.
