PARIS’ NEWEST DELUXE HOTEL ‘MADAME RÊVE’ OPENS IN FORMER GPO

Paris’ newest deluxe hotel, the Madame Rêve, opened its doors to guests on January 9. The hotel is located inside the city’s converted General Post Office, a few minutes walk away from the Seine River and the Louvre Museum.

Located in the heart of Paris, the ‘Madame Rêve’ hotel offers 82 rooms and suites in Paris’ former General Post Office. It was constructed in 1886 by the architect Julien Guadet for the needs of the French Post Office. The building is remarkable with its monumental stone envelope and its unusually large metal structure. It took five years for architect Dominique Perrault to restructure approximately 32,000 m² of floor space to include offices, restaurants, a shopping gallery and the luxurious Madame Rêve hotel.

The 82 rooms and suites reveal breathtaking views over the hotel’s vertical sky garden, Paris roofs and some of the most emblematic monuments such as the Eiffel Tower or the nearby Samaritaine department store and the Pompidou National Museum of Modern Art. Many of the rooms have a balcony or even a small terrace.

The hotel decor is a subtle mix of precious woods and bespoke golden-brown fabrics. The hotel offers two culinary experiences: a restaurant on the ground floor specialising in Mediterranean cuisine, Madame Rêve Café, while on the third floor, a panoramic restaurant, La Plume, serves a Japanese influenced menu. Its 1,000sq m rooftop garden offers a tranquil escape in the heart of the bustling city.

The hotel also has a well-being area offering two treatments rooms, a sauna as well as a fitness room.
