BAHIA DEL DUQUE IS NOW SYNONYMOUS WITH… JAPANESE CUISINE

One of the most prestigious hotels in Tenerife, the Bahia del Duque, is set to grow further in fame, thanks to its newest Japanese restaurant, Kensei.

Bahía del Duque, a member hotel of the Tais Hotels & Villas in Tenerife, has constantly been voted among the top European hotels since it opened 27 years ago. It now has a new attraction with the opening of its new contemporary Japanese restaurant ‘Kensei’ by chef Víctor Planas – with experience working in the best Michelin-starred kitchens.

The new restaurant received its first guests in August, proposing a culinary concept that combines avant-garde cuisine with a touch of luxury, all with the compliments of Chef Víctor Planas’s 22 years’ experience.

“Kensei is based on honesty and respect. When we select our ingredients and prepare our recipes, we like to be as rigorous as possible with these values. However, we combine this experience with a dinner where clients feel maximum freedom with a wide range of options to choose how to experience it,” said Planas.

Five different areas inside the restaurant welcome the guests to give them a different ambiance: A casual terrace gives way to a room with large windows next to another room with a spectacular interior design. Inside the restaurant there is a bar, where the chef himself reveals some of his secrets. There is also the “Secret Garden”, with tables surrounding a huge lake populated with swans and with lush vegetation.

Kensei is open to hotel guests and external bookings. It adds the experience of top Japanese cuisine to the hotel’s extension selection of eight other restaurants.
