ALL ABOARD FOR THE GRAND TOUR OF CATALUNYA

The Catalunya Tourism Board has resumed Grand Tour Catalunya, which has been designed to focus on all the highlights of the famous Spanish region.

The Grand Tour Catalunya is a circular tourist route – 2,200km long – divided into nine itineraries that cover most of the 42 natural regions of the Spanish region. The route allows visitors to experience the best of Catalunya’s art, history, gastronomy and traditions.

The route takes tourists off the beaten track and to some of its more well-known destinations to learn more about famous citizens including Gaudí and Dalí.

Alternatively, visitors can taste pa amb tomàquet (Catalan Tomato Bread) and Michelin-starred meals in famous restaurants, visit rural villages and Barcelona.

Activities along the way include the adrenaline rush of a parachute jump, peaceful walks along isolated shorelines and tasting sessions of local Catalan wines.

The new tourism route has been designed to focus on all the highlights of the famous region. There are several alternative routes, each designed to focus on special interests.

A spokesman for the Catalunya Tourism Board said: “Catalunya is a small but incredibly varied region, with a great deal of mountains and few plains, with such surprising contrasts from the Costa Brava to the Pyrenees, the Delta de l’Ebre to the mountain of Montserrat. As the wise say: do not believe us, just go and see it.”
