CYPRUS OPENS GATES TO VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

Cyprus is set to become the first European Union Member State to abolish entry requirements such as testing or quarantine for travellers who’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19.

It is reported that a government plan, set to come into force next March, means vaccinated travellers will not need to meet other COVID-related entry rules.

The news has been revealed by Cyprus Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos in an interview with the Cyprus Mail.

The announcement was part of a new four-tier system of green, orange, red and grey countries, determining different risks and entry requirements.

Passengers who are not vaccinated by the time the action plan becomes effective will still need to meet Cyprus’s entry requirements based on their country of origin.

Minister Karousos also noted that Cyprus’ safe travel list will be following the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) guidelines in the following months, including March and later.
